Although each cancer diagnosis may have a unique outcome, it is a life-altering event filled with uncertainty and challenge. In an effort to provide compassion, support, and guidance to ease the journey, the Project H.E.R. Mentorship program pairs newly diagnosed patients with “mentors” who have been through a similar diagnosis, as well as the process of treatment and recovery. We have volunteer mentors of all ages and different walks of life. Project H.E.R. pairs patients with mentors based on the needs of the patients. Our trained volunteers provide a broad range of insight and support (from a single phone call to lasting friendships) and help patients take advantage of resources available to them right here in the Willamette Valley.
To volunteer as a mentor, or to request support from a survivor please call 541-768-2375.
